9th Annual FLI NET™ Partners Conference in Kiev!

 

"HOW TO THRIVE, NOT JUST SURVIVE, DURING GLOBAL RECESSIONARY TIMES"

 

FLI proudly hosted its 9th Annual FLI NET Partners Conference on November 20-22nd., 2008 in the lovely setting of Kiev, Ukraine  ---  one of the oldest sites of Eastern European civilization. 

For the occasion, FLI NET Partners from fourteen countries attended the event including Germany, France, Italy, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Portugal, Belgium, Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan, Israel, the United States and of course Ukraine. Amidst the financial, food and energy crisis, the Conference was a timely opportunity for the attending FLI Partners to consider ways not only to survive but thrive during these turbulent times by seizing the rare opportunities created by such worldwide financial havoc. 

Also attending the conference as presenters and guest speakers were Standard Bank of London (represented by its Kiev branch) and international marketing company CHS International. 

FLI NET Partners next Conference will be held in Istanbul in the Spring of 2009.

FLI is requested to attend meetings in Rome for the purpose of advising a foreign client with the settling of accounts with local agents for professional services rendered in the past. FLI was assisted by FLI NET local Italian Partner.

FLI is convened to attend a strategy meeting in Paris to facilitate the acquisition of the shares in diversified a non-EU Company by a foreign buyer conglomerate. FLI assisted in the negotiation and the local FLI NET ™  Partner is to provide the local corporate legal support.

FLI is engaged by a Greek Multinational Construction Company known for its successful warehousing and storage building facilities.  FLI has been asked to facilitate and secure agreeable sites for similar investments in the US.   Same company has also asked FLI to facilitate a world renowned hotelier management company for a five-star resort being built on the Mediterranean coast.

 

FLI NET ™ Partners Berlin Conference

 

FLI NET ™ German Partner hosts a social gala event on Monday, May 19th., at the prestigious China Club in Berlin during the ITA annual conference.  FLI NET Executive Management Partners from Germany, France, Italy, Ukraine and Russia attended a half day working session to review cross-border and other worldwide development amongst members.  The working session is followed by a luncheon. 

Our German Partners have recently engaged the professional services of a Chinese qualified attorney and together will FLI will be launching a pan-European ambitious initiative to attract Chinese investment into Germany, the EU and emerging markets.

FLI is engaged by a proactive UK Real Estate Investor with an innovative business model to identify and secure business opportunities in the US market.  When taking into consideration the US economy currently plagued by the sub-prime credit crisis and the devaluation of the US dollar, real estate assets in the US translate into values not seen since the oil embargo of the 1970’s.

 

US Film Production Company

 

FLI is engaged by an US Independent Film Production Company to identify and secure bridge loan financing for the production a number of premier films and documentaries to be directed by some of Hollywood’s top names in the industry.  This project is slated to last several years and the amount of targeted investment is in excess of half a billion USD.

FLI assists European Maintenance Company expand market share in with prominent US partners

 

European Multinational Maintenance Company requests FLI’s international support and assistance in several European jurisdictions, including Denmark, Norway and Belgium as well as the USA to assess the potential of expanding their core market share in those respective markets amidst significant competition.

 

US Multinational Educational Company engaged FLI to wind down their operations in Spain.  FLI NET ™ Spanish Partners provided the local corporate, labor and tax support required.

FLI is engaged by multinational client to secure an exclusive agency relationship with the a renown Flour Mill & Fodder Company.  After negotiations, FLI successfully managed to secure the desired Agency relationship with this Company. Agent will be assisting the Company to secure local contracts.

Annual Ukrainian Bar Association Conference – Kiev

 

FLI’s Principal is featured as a keynote address speaker during the Ukrainian Bar Association Conference held in Kiev on Friday, February 22nd.: “Delivery of Legal Services in the 21st., Century: Just Being Good isn’t Good Enough”.  FLI’s presentation was based on the notion that competent legal advice, while essential for good client relations, alone no longer guarantees clients’ loyalty.  Today’s attorneys must be perceived as an international, cross-border solution enabler, hence the vital importance to be an integrated member of an international network was discussed in detail.

FLI Executive Management Partners from Germany (Schwarz, Kelwing, Wicke & Westphal), Italy (Mondini-Rusconi), France (Lamy-Lexel) and Russia/Ukraine (Konnov & Sozanovsky met in London (StoneKing Solicitors), Lyon, Berlin and Kiev during the week of February 18-22 for the express purpose of strengthening intra-Net partnership bonds while discussing cross-border opportunities.  FLI’s Executive Management took this opportunity to meet with our FLI NET Partners in France to review new strategies going forward under new point of contact Partner.

 

Fourth largest steel production company requests FLI's specialized assistance

 

FLI is engaged by the world’s fourth largest Steel Company to facilitate their entry and participation into the working group commissioned by the EU to define the Euro code standards for steel interlock technology.  Considering the impact which an adverse standard would have on this client as well as the US steel industry as a whole, this was a very time-sensitive undertaking.  FLI successfully managed to secure our client’s participation in the meeting and their ongoing role to monitor and positively influence this process at the EU-level.

Leading employment and transport specialist Peter Woodhouse has been recognised in The Lawyer’s exclusive ‘Hot 100’ list that identifies members of the legal profession who have excelled in their individual field during the past twelve months. This comes on top of Peter’s recent appointment as a Treasury Solicitor. A formal reception for the ‘Hot 100’ is being held later in January at the Royal Exchange where the guest list includes key personalities from across the legal profession.
