December 2005

FLI is invited by US blue chip aircraft manufacturing company to attend the Network Centric Operations Industry Consortium (NCOIC) conference in Brussels.

 

FLI is retained to represent a Belgian client residing in the US to sort out Treaty Trader status in the US under current US legislation resulting in a timely renewal before the close out of the year.

 

FLI is retained to represent a US client to sort out a complicated inheritance scheme in Spain under severe time constraints and draconian legislation towards foreigners.

November 2005

FLI is retained to organize a consortium between private enterprise, the Italian government and a US Fortune Company for the purpose of developing a hallmark research center in Italy in the biotechnology sector - first of a kind in Europe. FLI launches the project by organizing an onsite meeting in Rome between the scientists, ministers and representatives of the US multinational in the biotechnology sector.

 

FLI organizes a summit meeting in Rome between FLI NET™ partners and representatives of EU's leading defense technology company, as well as, with representatives of the Italian government to explore ways and means to capture business opportunities there as well as possibly set up local infrastructure. If successful, this would represent a significant win for the Spanish manufacturer in Italy.

 

FLI sponsors its Fall Conference in the Republic of San Marino. The event was attended by FLI NET™ partners from fourteen countries representing Asia Pacific, Middle East, Europe and the United States. The conference was a definitive watershed event for FLI's management since it was hosted by a well-known international business boutique with a significant skill-set in the financial, lobbying and political landscape.  FLI continues to efficiently address cutting edge solutions for our worldwide partners, by staying ahead of the trend in our industry. During the conference, FLI NET™ partners met with government representatives of RSM, the head of the National Bank, and various dignitaries. The three-day event culminated with a social event attended by all.

October 2005

FLI is retained by Danish company to pursue the collection of a contractual debt from a distributor who had defaulted on its obligations. FLI secured a cost-effective, successful result without having to resort to litigation.

 

FLI NET™ partner in France requires the support of FLI NET™ partner in Italy to defend a claim in litigation from French partner's client resulting in a very successful outcome and under significant time pressure.

September 2005

FLI is retained by multinational non-EU company to negotiate and secure representation rights for distribution of air traffic radar center technology and equipment by top EU manufacturer and initial sale of over one hundred million euro equipment.

August 2005

FLI NET™ partner in Singapore requires support from FLI NET™ Partner in Italy to assist a Singaporean client with a transaction involving securitizing a loan from a borrower from a third country wishing to promote a business venture in the pulp industry. 

 

FLI NET™ partner in France requires support from FLI NET™ Partner in Japan to assist a French client with regularizing its legal operations in Japan and ensuring timely corporate compliance of personnel residing in Japan.

July 2005

FLI sponsors a top client conference in Beijing hosted by FLI NET™ partner, Zhong Lun. Zhong Lun, recently featured in the Red Circle among one of the top firms in China hosted the event where FLI NET™ partners from Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan attended and/or participated. FLI organized the event in order to introduce CEO of US manufacturer expanding its operations from the USA to Asia Pacific, requiring comprehensive legal support.

June 2005

FLI also introduced to FLI NET™ General Counsels of US multinational company leading the field of chemical supply in the rubber industry worldwide with current operations in Asia wanting to outsource its legal requirements to the in-country partners of FLI NET™. The Conference culminated with two socials hosted events with the clients.

 

FLI NET™ partner in France requires support from FLI NET™ Partner in Mexico to assist a French client with defending a groundless claim by a former member in their operations in Mexico.

FLI is asked by Hong Kong Multinational Company in the music industry to set up a joint venture with Chinese counterparts in Shanghai.  FLI NET™ Partner in China to spearhead the project and ensure due compliance under ROC law.

April 2005

FLI sponsors its Spring Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia hosted by FLI NET™  Partner, Azmi & Associates.  FLI NET™ Partners from China, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore as well as the United Kingdom and the United States supported the event.  The Deputy Minister of  International Trade, graced the event as the key-note speaker followed by key-note addressed by FLI Principal and founding partner of Azmi & Associates.  The gala dinner event was hosted at the Petronas Towers and was graced by the two top members of the Judiciary including the highest ranking female member of the judiciary in Asia. 

March 2005

Following due diligence, FLI presents its findings to Italian Ministry regarding how to proceed with highly complex stalemate litigation worth  € 120m involving the possibility of international arbitration under a bilateral Convention signed between Italy and the country of dispute.

 

FLI travels to Poland to assist a Gibraltar Company in negotiations with key officials regarding the sale of aircraft.

FLI is engaged by US Technology Company to set up and incorporate its first Subsidiary in Japan.  In addition to fulfilling these legal requirements, through FLI's Assistant GC ™ FLI was also able to fully implement a back-office, admin support function to enable client to benefit from local domiciliation, resident representative director, registered office, and other back-office services.

 

FLI advises Middle Eastern multinational client on a complex acquisition of a sizeable number agricultural aircraft for several million euros from an EU country to be used in North Africa.  Negotiations involved the key officials from the supervisory Board of the manufacturing EU country as well the client counterparts.

 

Following due diligence, FLI presents its findings to Italian Ministry regarding how to proceed with highly complex stalemate litigation worth € 120m involving the possibility of international arbitration under a bilateral Convention signed between Italy and the country of dispute.

FLI successfully advises a Middle Eastern multinational client through its FLI NET™ partner in Lyon, France on a 6m sale of couscous production equipment to a significant North African client.


After presenting to the Ministry, FLI is awarded a Mandate by the Italian government to manage a dispute resolution portfolio involving very complex litigations in difficult jurisdictions.  FLI demonstrates its ability to attract clients accustomed to top quality but looking for a turn-key solution which traditional law firms are not able to procure without incurring extremely high fees.


FLI successfully advises a Middle Eastern client through its FLI NET™ partner in Germany on a € 98m sale of cement by a cement multinational German company to a significant North African client.
