Achievements:
- As a foreign legal consultant of Hankyul Law Firm in Seoul, Korea, Ms. Sun advises domestic and foreign corporations on international commercial transactions, drafts legal memoranda on state and federal laws of the U.S., reviews and revises contracts, and assists domestic and foreign clients with on international commercial litigation in Korean and US court
- Before turning to law, Ms. Sun had academic and government careers and her previous appointments include a full-time instructor at the Korea Air Force Academy, a senior advisor at the U.S. Information Service in Seoul, and an adjunct English professor at Sookmyung Women’s University. Upon graduation from law school, she worked as an associate at Yi, Cho & Brunstein in New York, NY. Shortly after she joined Hankyul in 2005, she took a leave to serve as the Secretary for Overseas Communication for former President Roh Moo-hyun and returned to Hankyul in 2007
- She was awarded the US Department of State meritorious award in 1997
- In addition to international commercial practice, Ms. Sun is committed to pro bono activities. In New York, she served as a board member of YWCA Queens and currently serves on the boards of the Korea Foundation and Korea Human Rights Foundation as well as an expert volunteer advisor to the National Human Rights Commission. She also provides pro bono consultations to various non-governmental organizations
