FLI NET CZ awarded "Law Firm of the Year 2009!"

First Law International is very proud to announce that our Czech Republic partner firm - Havel & Holasek - has just received the award of the "Law Firm of the year 2009!"

The award was granted to a winning law firm through a competion organized by the prestigious Czech legal publishing company (epravo.cz) and based on the assessment of an independent jury of peer law firms, Czech and international corporations, as well as professionals selected by the publising company.

This prestigious and well-deserved recognition is a great achievement for Havel & Holasek that demonstrates their unmachted reputation in the Czech Republic and the quality of FLI NET carefully selected partners in various jursidictions.

FLI NET concluded its 11th semi-annual conference!

On the occasion of FLI’s 11th semi-annual world-wide conference, FLI NET partners from 24 countries from around the world gathered together in charming Barcelona, home to our local FLI NET Spain Partners – MANIEGA & SOLER Abogados - to convene the finest and well attended FLI NET event yet.
 

FLI NET European core members along with the partners from as far away as Seoul and Washington DC, as well as four newly joined partners from Albania, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Kyrgyzstan have joined Orlando Casares and FLI's Executive Management to discuss and harness FLI’s innovative business model in order to continue providing our clients world-wide with the desired solutions only FLI can offer.
 

A panel of selected speakers from USA, Germany, and Spain, among which was Honorable Judge of the Commercial Court of Barcelona - Mr. Juan Manuel de Castro, offered a lively and revealing discussion on cross-border insolvency and financial restructuring to the attending guests from the local business and legal community.
 

Through the presence of a number of FLI's key multinational clients, FLI NET partners enjoyed the networking sessions in a blasé atmosphere, which provided clients with a unique opportunity to sample FLI's joint cross-border powerful capabilities.
 

The next FLI NET conference will take place in Spring of 2010 and will be hosted in the Asia.

Maniega & Soler organiza el congreso de la red FLI

El despacho de abogados Maniega & Soler actuó como anfitrión el pasado fin de semana en Barcelona del congreso mundial de la red First Law International (FLI), de la que forma parte, donde acudieron más de 150 representantes de más de 25 firmas y países.


Las jornadas celebradas en la ciudad condal sirvieron para alcanzar acuerdos de carácter interno, como la incorporación de nuevos miembros en Finlandia y Reino Unido y la confirmación de los planes de expansión de la red en Latinoamérica de la mano del socio español, Maniega & Soler. Asimismo, este bufete con sede en Barcelona obtuvo el respaldo necesario para empezar a implementar progresivamente su “Plan Desks”. José Antonio Soler, socio director de Maniega & Soler, explicó a EXPANSIÓN que este plan trata de dar un mayor dinamismo comercial a la red, compartiendo información y siendo más activos para detectar potenciales desplazamientos de clientes”.

En el plano académico destacó una mesa redonda sobre los concursos cross-border, donde los representantes de Estados Unidos no pudieron escaparse de las diferentes alusiones a los casos de Madoff y Lehman Brothers. La mesa redonda fue presidida por la socia Laura Maniega, y contó con la presencia del magistrado del Juzgado Medrcantil de Barcelona, Juan Manuel de Castro, y el diputado de la Junta del Colegio de Abogados de Barcelona, Héctor Sebastián Sbert.
